SOME 240 personnel of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) and members of the PNP-Maritime Group have cast their votes on the first day of the three-day local absentee voting (LAV) on Wednesday.

PPPO director Col. Richmond Tadina said 230 police personnel and 10 officers from the maritime group availed the LAV.

Ito yung mga personnel namin na mula sa ibang mga probinsiya at bayan sa Pangasinan na naka-distino malayo kanilang lugar kung saan sila nakarehistro,” he said.

Police officers who are registered in other provinces were permitted to cast their votes earlier than the May 9, 2022 elections because they will be deployed to frontline security during the polls.

Absentee voters casted their votes manually only for national positions: president, vice-president, senators and party-list.

The vote canvassing for the absentee voting will be done at the Comelec main office in Intramuros at 7 p.m. of May 9, right after the closing of polling precincts nationwide.  (Jerick Pasiliao)
