The 209 TUPAD workers are informal workers, tricycle drivers, fisherfolks, vendors and construction workers. Each received P 3,400 as their wage for the 10-day community clean-up service from April 24 to May 3.

DOLE ROI Regional Director Evelyn Ramos led the payout ceremony on May 7 at the Dagupan City plaza.

Aside from the DOLE, other government agencies extended aid to the beneficiaries: Office of Senator Bong Go gave medicines, personal protective equipment and raffle items to the beneficiaries; Department of the Social Welfare and Development led by Undersecretary Aimee Torrefrancia-Neri distributed P3,000 each, emergency kits and food packs under its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.

Meanwhile, Department of Trade and Industry Assistant Secretary Flor Amate introduced their department’s livelihood programs which the TUPAD workers can likewise avail.
