Only four COVID-19 cases remaining, 23 recovered
CAPITOL OPTIMISTIC
WITH only four COVID-19 cases remaining in Pangasinan as of April 23, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) expressed confidence that the contagion in the province will finally be contained in two weeks or earlier.
Dr. Anna de Guzman, provincial health officer, said, the 23 out of 36 COVID-19 cases, have already recovered and only nine patients died.
The recovery of the 23 patients has given the provincial government hope that the virus that has spread to 178 countries in the world, can be beaten.
The four remaining cases, reported to be in stable condition and given a strong chance to recover, are two males from Urdaneta City confined at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City and one each from Dagupan City and Laoac town. The patient from Dagupan patient is confined at the Region 1 Medical Center.
De Guzman attributed the big recovery rate in Pangasinan not only to the better treatment management protocols devised by doctors, nurses and other front line workers but also to the early consultation of patients.
For the contagion to be defeated, the people of Pangasinan should follow home quarantine regulations, including social distancing strictly and to always wear face masks, said De Guzman. (Leonardo Micua)
