City provides livelihood assistance to indigents
ANOTHER batch of indigents received livelihood assistance from the city government under the Bottom-up Budgeting (BuB) Project on Monday.
Some 67 young Dagupeños received P2,000 transportation allowance from the city government along with their starting kit from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) worth P6,000 each.
City Social Welfare and Development Officer Leah L. Aquino said the livelihood and scholarship program are for the sons and daughters of indigent families in the city who were enrolled in commercial cooking, sewing and shielded metal art works.
They will graduate on March 28 at the City Astrodome together with the students of Project B.E.L.E.N.
Members of the Rural Improvement Clubs in the city also received cooking kits worth P7,000 each from the city under the Grassroots Participatory Budgeting Program (GPBP) to enable them to start producing smoked bangus without food coloring that can last for about two months. (CIO)
