Joined His Creator on June 3, 2014 in Dagupan City.

His wife Merla Mendoza Hortaleza and children Sheila- Gilbert, Venus May-Jason and Dindo; grandchildren Cameron, Jasmyne, Jamayca and Jayson, and fellow journalists earnestly request pious readers to pray for the eternal repose of his soul.

Interment will be on June 10, 2014 (Tuesday), 8 a.m. at the Eternal Gardens in Dagupan City.

Ben was the publisher-editor of Pangasinan Star and managing editor of The Sunday Punch.
