She was 103. A long time Berkeley, California resident, she was born on June 19, 1920 in Binmaley, Pangasinan. She was a High School teacher for 15 years there. In 1952, she married Pedro Velasco Fernandez of Binmaley.
They had two sons, Modesto (b 1953) and Leo (b 1955). She left with her sons for Berkeley, California in 1959 to join her husband, Pedro, a US Navy Sailor.
There she was a full-time homemaker. They had a daughter, Emily (b 1961). Mrs. Fernandez was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro, brothers and sisters, Norberto, Lily, Aurea, Hispilo and Felicisimo. She is survived by her brother Susano of Binmaley, sons Modesto, Leo and daughter Emily Fernandez all of Berkeley, California. Funeral and burial was in San Pablo, California.
