PAMMA routs PIMSAT, LNU upends CdD
PRISAA METRO DAGUPAN CAGE TOURNEY
THE Pangasinan Merchant Marine Academy (PAMMA) team, still nursing a bitter refrain from its loss in its opener the other week, mercilessly demolished the PIMSAT Colleges squad, 102-56.
Meanwhile, the Lyceum-Northwestern University (LNU) quintet displayed its championship form by outsmarting the Colegio de Dagupan (CDD) Five, 92-81, on the second day of basketball skirmishes in the ongoing 2012 PRISAA Metro Dagupan Division Collegiate Games last Thursday at the Peoples Astrodome.
PAMMA set a record as the first team to breach the century mark in the PRISAA event this year as it outscored PIMSAT in all the first three periods of the game.
PAMMA is now tied with CDD for second place in overall team standings with 1-1 loss-win card each.
LNU, meanwhile, has remained unbeaten and is in the lead with a 2-0 ticket.
The University of Luzon (UL), which lost its opening day game to CDD, 76-80, and PIMSAT are now tied in the cellar with a 0-1 slate each.
Games on Thursday, August 30, are PAMMA versus CDD and UL vs. PIMSAT.
In this qualifying event, each team has to play only four games in a single round robin series and the team that garners the most number of wins will be declared the overall winner and move on to represent the Metro Dagupan Division in the 22nd PRISAA Regional Collegiate Games set on November 5-8 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center in Lingayen.–Philamer C.
