ALAMINOS CITY–It looks like former President Joseph ‘Erap’ Estrada has already made a decision for Gina de Venecia: run for a seat in the senate.

De Venecia, wife of fourth district Rep. Jose de Venecia Jr., earlier said she remains uncertain whether to vie as senator or a congressional representative in the 2010 election.

Estrada, who arrived Friday with his Lakbay Pasasalamat caravan and to distribute relief goods to typhoon-affected residents, told local newsmen, “That’s for sure, I just don’t consider her, I have already considered her”.

He added that Gina has already given her nod.

“Umoo na siya. Sumasama na nga siya sa amin eh,” said Estrada who is currently leading the opposition.

Gina, speaking to the local media two weeks ago, said she is still weighing her options but hinted that she is more inclined towards running for the position that will be vacated by her husband who is retiring in 2010 after his third and last term as 4th district representative.

She said the family loves the district so much and had served it well and so it would be hard for them to leave.

De Venecia’s son, Joey, who gained prominence as the whistleblower in the controversial NBN-ZTE broadband deal which has now been shelved by the government, is also considering a political career.#
