ALAMINOS High School topped the mural painting contest sponsored by the Pangasinan police as part of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Transformation Program.

The local government of Bugallon took first place in the professional level.

The murals were rendered on the perimeter fence of the Pangasinan police headquarters in Lingayen.

“Through these murals, it’s time to make the people see, make them feel and experience their policemen especially those working on the ground 24 hours a day,” said Director Leopoldo Bataoil, head of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations for Northern Luzon. He represented PNP Chief Director General Jesus Verzosa during the judging and simple awarding rites last Saturday.

At the same time, P/Sr. Supt. Percival Barba, police provincial director, said police morale is boosted every time they see the paintings.

“Beneath the paintings are colors not seen by the eyes but felt by the hearts,” Barba said.

Barba said the contest was in response to the call of Gov. Amado Espino Jr., who once served as Pangasinan police director, to keep the camp clean and beautiful.

Chief Superintendent Ramon Gatan, regional police director, who was here for the occasion, said the participation and contribution of various agencies to the paintings is a sign of good cooperation and partnership between the PNP and the community. #

He added that he would encourage other provincial police headquarters in the region to duplicate the project.#
