Lucao wins best ‘Gulayan sa Paaralan’

Lucao Elementary School was adjudged anew the Most Effective “Gulayan Sa Paaralan” Pagsasarili Program implementor in the sustainability category. This is its fifth citation.

Carael Elementary School and East Central Elementary School (Mayombo) placed second and third place, respectively.

In the big school category, Pantal Elementary School was listed as the best followed by North Central Elementary School (Bonuan Gueset), Malued Elementary School and Federico N. Ceralde Elementary School.

BLISS Elementary School (Bonuan Binloc), T. Ayson-Rosario Elementary School (Calmay), Salisay Elementary School, and Juan L. Siapno (Pogo Chico) garnered first, second, third, and fourth place in the small category, respectively.

T. Ayson-Rosario Elementary School was also best in landscaping; Malued Elementary School, best in herbal garden; Salisay Elementary School, best in containerized garden; and Pantal Elementary School, best in agriculture research.

Councilor Michael V. Fernandez, who was guest of honor and speaker during the awarding ceremonies, urged the communities to sustain the program aimed at reducing malnutrition, especially among children by creating public awareness on the benefits of school gardening.
