Korean artists join Bangus Festival
KOREAN artists are also participating in the Dagupan Bangus Festival 2009.
The Meog Saem Korean Artist Association (MSKAA) currently has their works on display at the second level of CSI the City Mall until May 3.
Dr. Tae Durk Park of the Universal Communication Learning Institute, coordinator of the exhibit and whose wife is a Filipina from Dagupan, said this is the first exhibit of MSKAA in the Philippines and the second one will be at the Paskuhan Village in San Fernando, Pampanga from May 9 to 23.
The exhibit is part of the cultural program of the group to promote Korean arts to Filipinos. The art works focus on the different scenes in Korea, including its people.
Dr. Tae said the Meog Saem artists use a special ink for their work which they make from choice grinding stones in their country.
Kim Soon-Ok, chairman of Meog Saem, said the two foreign exhibitions mark the 17th year founding of their association, and seeks to promote the Korean fine arts and passion for arts and culture.
“We are so delighted to have such an important opportunity to show Filipinos the Korean culture and sentiments through the fine arts and paintings in this exhibition,” she said.
Aside from Kim Soon-Ok, other artists exhibiting their work are Kim Heon Soon, Noh Jeng-Aue, Park Dae-Sook, Park Chun-Ok, Bae Hwa-Ja, Son Gae Hwa, Jung Su-Jeon, Jung-Yoo-Jung, Jung In-Woo and Jim Kyung-Ja,
The guest artists are Chan Kim Yun, Park Ok Nam, Meog Soo Lee, Lee Min-han and Choi Kwang-Kyu.
Crispin Nacpil Cadiang, executive director of the Philippines’ Likha Creativity Institute, encourages the residents to view the exhibit.–LM
