MORE than 1,000 youth, aged 7 to 18 from Dagupan City’s 31 barangays, participated in the two-day Milo Sports Clinic from April 21 to 22 at CSI Stadia.

The participants joined training in taekwondo, chess, badminton, karatedo, and basketball as part of the 2009 Bangus Festival 2009.

Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. said urged parents to encourage their children to engage in sports during summer as he described Dagupan as a “city with sports-loving children.”

Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, meanwhile, said the event is aimed at instilling values and camaraderie among the participants through sports.

Patrick Belen Diño, sales manager of Nestle in North Luzon, thanked the city officials for including the MILO sports clinic in the calendar of activities of the Bangus Festival.–LM
