Resuello not giving up his quest for justice
SAN CARLOS CITY–Mayor Julier Resuello is not giving up hope on his quest to seek justice for the murder of his father, former Mayor Julian Resuello, who was gunned down two years ago.
Resuello’s continued optimism stems from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s instruction to three Cabinet members to monitor the developments on the case.
Resuello told local newsmen that the President, who came to Sto. Tomas last week for an out-of-town Cabinet meeting, personally assured him that three of her secretaries, whom he declined to name, have been tasked to help in the resolution of the case.
“Hope is not lost in this case,” Resuello said.
A regional prosecutor recently dismissed the case for lack of probable cause and cited the long gap in the period between the time of the commission of the crime and the date the witnesses submitted their testimonies.
The former mayor’s bodyguard was also killed and several others wounded during the shooting on April 27, 2007 at the city’s auditorium during a public celebration.
A former mayor of the city has been tagged allegedly as the mastermind of the crime.
Resuello said a motion for reconsideration with prayer to inhibit the prosecutor who dismissed the case has been filed.#
