Cruz hits Arroyo anew

LINGAYEN–Dagupan Archbishop Oscar Cruz is not surprised about the -32% satisfaction rating of President Gloria Macapal Arroyo based on the latest survey of the Social Weather Stations Inc.

“She has been acting contrary to the dictates of common sense and reason,” was how he summed up his own appreciation of the survey.

“Imagine her calling for moral renewal, when she has the title of first place in corruption; and, for her even to say that the world would not welcome Edsa 3 is either a delusion or a restlessness incarnate,” Cruz, a vocal critic of the President, told The PUNCH.

He added that the Philippines under Arroyo’s command has been continuously looked down upon by other countries, including the Asian continent.

“And this I say from first hand basis because of my regular meetings with key Asian bishops,” he said.

He added that the reason people seem not to see the good things she does is because “the little good things she does is all for self-image for political reason”.

Since Arroyo assumed the presidency, said Cruz, “the truth can’t be denied that the country has been continuously on its way down the gutter in terms of honesty, integrity and probity to say the least,”

The SWS non-commissioned survey, fielded over Feb. 20 and 23, found 26 percent satisfied and 59 percent dissatisfied with Mrs. Arroyo’s performance, for a net rating of -32. #
