REHABILITATION work in the 4th district on the infrastructure damaged by Typhoon Cosme that hit the province in May last year is now complete, according to Rep. Jose de Venecia Jr.

“Save for a few more houses in San Fabian that need to be attended to by me and Mayor (Mojamito) Libunao, rehabilitation of all damaged houses in my district is now complete,” said De Venecia.

Damaged school buildings and other public infrastructure have also been repaired.

De Venecia hailed the people saying while the government provided the materials, it was the bayanihan spirit of the community that carried out the rehabilitation work.

Financing for the rehabilitation were sourced largely from De Venecia’s savings from his share of the Countrywide Development Assistance Fund.

He also credited the efforts of Governor Amado Espino Jr. President Gloria Macagal Arroyo, Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro, chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council, Education Secretary Jesli Lapuz, and Social Welfare Secretary Esperanza Cabral.–LM
