P’sinan is ‘Most Outstanding Migrant Desk Office”
LINGAYEN– The provincial government received another commendation for ‘uplifting the general welfare of the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families.’
Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr., led several Sangguniang Panlalawigan members and department heads, received the “Most Outstanding Migrant Desk Office” from the region’s Overseas Workers Welfare Administration – Regional Welfare Office 1 (OWWA – RWO1) from PESO Manager Alex F. Ferrer during the regular flag-raising ceremony at the Capitol Plaza on June 4.
Elizardo D. Laureta and Christopher L. Dioquino, two migrant desk officers in the province, also bagged the award “Regional Migrant Desk Officers,” the highest citation conferred by the OWWA Region 1.
Ferrer said the provincial government under the leadership of Gov. Amado Espino III will keep its support and assistance to the prevailing and future undertakings of the OWWA Region 1.
The Pangasinan Migration and Development Council Pangasinan organized OFW task force to implement programs that will promote the interest and well-being of OFW families. (PIO/SMDG)
