Mesina is new Calasiao vice-mayor
CALASIAO –This town has a new vice mayor.
Municipal Councilor Mahadeva Das Mesina, 36, took his oath of office on Jan. 3 to replace Vice Mayor Ferdinand Galang who resigned from his post to live abroad.
Galang submitted his resignation letter to the local office of the Department of Interior and Local Government yesterday.

Mesina took his oath of office before Municipal Trial Court Judge Avelina Rosario.
Mesina was a three-term barangay captain of Longos this town and ran unopposed twice.
He was elected number one councilor in the May 2016 polls.
Meanwhile, Roberto Jorgio, who ranked number 10 in the last polls for municipal council, also became the newest councilor following the rule on succession caused by Galang’s resignation.
Jorgio is a partymate of the mayor and the new vice mayor. (Tita Roces)
