READ.READ.READ. — Francisco Sionil Jose, National Artist for Literature, gestures as he encourages the audience to continue reading books as he regales them with stories about Jose Rizal and other national heroes. Jose, born in Rosales, was guest of honor and speaker during the 118th Independence Day Centerpiece launch at SM City Rosales. Jose’s works highlight the class struggles and colonial history of Filipino society.
