THE 150 officers of the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP)-Dagupan City Chapter took the one-day seminar “Young Adult Fertility and Sexuality Study (YAFS4) at the city museum last week.

The participants were made to understand about adolescent sexuality and health issues in a bid to empower them in decision-making regarding their sexual and non-sexual behaviors.

“It is important that our youth be reminded on how to deal with their sexual and non-sexual behaviors to keep them away from getting pregnant at their early age,” said Leah L. Aquino, City Population Officer and Officer-In-Charge of the City Social Welfare and Development Office.

Records of the Commission on Population show that Dagupan City has the most number of teenage pregnancy cases all over Pangasinan.

Through the initiative of Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, the PYAP Dagupan City Chapter was organized to provide out-of-school youths the opportunity to excel and acquire a better future. (CIO/JCB)
