Consultations with people energize me – Mark C

COJUANGCO UPDATES

FORMER Rep. Mark Cojuangco said he is enjoying his people’s consultations across Pangasinan, talking to ordinary folks in the barangays, mingling with them even in SM (Silong ng Mangga), or under mango trees, listening to their stories and concerns.

Cojuangco said his interactions with the people are very encouraging and productive as ordinary people come to meetings arranged by his volunteer leaders in every barangay.

“People have many questions about solutions to their problems and concerns and many others about good governance,” he added.

He added, “They are very participative and what is very inspiring is they really exert efforts to join, interact and let their voices be heard.”

“They freely express their views and it elates me because it means they know and trust that I understand their feelings,” he added.

During their meetings, Cojuangco would sit with the crowd and listens intently to ordinary folks’ issues and concerns.

He would also spell out his plans, visions and programs in his gubernatorial bid in 2016. He tells the crowd what he had done in the fifth district where he was a three-term congressman and how he intends to replicate this in entire Pangasinan.

Cojuangco said in each of his consultations, about 200 or 300 barangay folks would gather and exchange ideas with him.

He would get an average schedule of five daily consultations across Pangasinan and the former congressman said he gets even more energized to meet them.

This is aside from invitations for him to be guest of honor and speaker in various occasions.

He said he normally starts his meetings at 8:30 a.m. onward in the evening.

Between speaking on stage as guest of honor and attending a casual chat with groups of people in the barangays, Cojuangco said he prefers the latter because there is personal encounter and they deal with him up close and personal.

“There is a different kind of feeling if you talk to them, hugging them especially the elderly. You can feel their sincerity,” he added.
