Cojuangco elated by increasing pledges of support
COJUANGCO UPDATES
FORMER Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco said he is elated over the warm reception accorded him by his fellow Pangasinenses in his various sorties across Pangasinan.
Cojuangco told newsmen that he is inspired by the enthusiastic response of people to his presence, saying he is more confident than ever that everywhere he goes, people become more aware about him and learn to know him better.
He said many Pangasinenses already knew him, some by name only, but once they see him in person whenever he graces an occasion, he could feel the sincerity and the warmth of the people.
“They come close to me smiling, wanting to shake hands with me, or take pictures with me. The reception is so natural,” he said.

When he came to Binmaley last Monday for the inauguration of the Manpower Development and Training Center that was simultaneously held for the birthday celebration of Mayor Simplicio “Sammy” Rosario, the former congressman also received warm reception and was well applauded when he delivered his message. He was joined by no less than Vice President Jejomar Binay.

The said event was also attended by former Rep. Mitos Magsaysay and Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Francis Tolentino.
Binmaley officials led by Rosario have declared their support for Cojuangco’s gubernatorial plan in December last year.
Asked how many mayors have so far thrown their support for his announced gubernatorial bid in 2016, Cojuangco said “it’s 41” citing documents expressing the mayors’ pledge of support for his next political fight.
Cojuangco, however, conceded that some may still not be firm in their decision as of presstime “so based on my assessment, it’s in the high 30s”.
There are 47 town and city mayors in Pangasinan excluding Dagupan City which does not participate in provincial elections.
He is optimistic that as the next election approaches, more mayors would openly declare their commitment.
