Manay Gina met not one, but three Popes

HOW many can claim to be as blessed and fortumate as Fourth District Rep. Gina de Venecia to have personally met three Popes in one’s lifetime?
She met Saint John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and on Friday, Pope Francis!
With God’s grace, Manay Gina said she was fortunate to be one of the 11 members of the House of Representatives invited to meet Pope Francis, when His Holiness met with the President in Malacañang during his state and pastoral visit.
“I am in awe of the humility of Pope Francis. His message of Christ’s mercy and compassion is really heartfelt,” De Venecia said.
She said she was deeply moved when she saw the Pope on Jan. 17 in a raincoat, enduring the bad weather in solidarity with the suffering Yolanda victims in Leyte.
“As a mother, I was particularly touched by the Pope’s concern for the families, particularly his advice during his ‘meeting with families’ at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, to never lose our capacity to dream, for the betterment of our family,” she said. (Tita Roces)
