Finalist in The Voice PH 2 sings in Capitol

LINGAYEN – The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 finalist, Mark Douglas, returned to his hometown in Pangasinan and performed for the employees during the Flag Raising Ceremony at the Provincial Capitol Grounds last Monday.

Gov. Amado T. Espino Jr. welcomed and congratulated Pangasinan’s bet in The Voice of the Philippines Season 2.

Espino felt elated to learn that it was Douglas’ voice that was heard in his signature 2010 reelection campaign Jingle “Saludo, Espino Pa RinTayo” which was also played by the GATE Band during barangay and town fiestas.

Mark Douglas Cabrera Dagal known as “Douglas”, a member of Team Sarah, is a 34-year-old father with two children residing in Maligaya Subdivision, Bonuan Gueset .

Douglas spent his secondary schooling at the University of Pangasinan and earned his degree as computer technician at the Colegio De Dagupan.

In the year 2005, Douglas tried his luck abroad and worked as an Overseas Filipino Worker where he became a full time musician in China, Japan and Singapore.

Before his overseas stint, Douglas was a former band member of the Pangasinan-based bands including Invictus and Hilyt bands

He failed in his first audition for the Voice PH 2 but eventually succeeded in his second attempt during the talent search in Dagupan City.

With his rendition of the song I Believe I Can Fly, he hurdled the knockout rounds aired last Saturday. Coach Sarah Geronimo picked him to move on to the next round of the competition.

Douglas cheerfully confessed his life-changing experience in his hometown. “Ang saya, nagkakagulo sila”, he shared.

He asked for the support of his fellow kabaleyans in his journey in the talent search. “Aray kabaleyan ko edPangasinan, kekerewen koy suporta yo ed laban ko ed The Voice. Suportaan yo ak. Balbaleg ya salamat”, he appealed.

He said he hopes to win so he will not have to work abroad and just pursue his singing career here. (PIO)
