Malasiqui rider tops San Fabian cycling

EX-professional cyclist Kenneth Solis wittingly stayed with the main bunch almost all the way until he suddenly bolted the group in the last eight kilometers and never relinquished the front up to finish to rule the amateur category 81-kilometer 2015 San Fabian Cycling Challenge held on January 17.

The five-foot-five dusky rider from Malasiqui clocked the distance in two hours, one minute and seven seconds bagging the top prize of P5,000 plus a trophy.

Kit Cabonita of Guimba, Nueva Ecija came in 750 meters behind worth P4,000 and Daniel Carino of Mangaldan placed third for P3,000. Hometown kid Rene Esteban and Jason Comandante of Calasiao landed fourth and fifth and pocketed P2,000 and P1,000, respectively with medal apiece.

In the master division, Buboy Llamas of Manila, Joe Maramba of Dagupan City and Alfie Tanzo of Manila placed first, second and third, respectively to bag P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000, correspondingly, and with trophy each.

The 40-kilometer grandmaster class was topped byJioni Aquino of Mangaldan, AlfonsoClauna of Dagupan City in second place and DannyUgoy of Binmaley for third worth P1,000, P750 and P500. respectively, with medal a piece. (JAG, Jr.)
