Pista’y Dayat showcases sports events

LINGAYEN—This year’s celebration of Pista’y Dayat will be different.

Various sports events are now among the highlights of the celebration to highlight the provincial government’s aim of transforming Pangasinan into a “center of sports development”.

Among the featured games will be boxing, volleyball and cycling.

The boxing competition is slated on April 28, with 12 weight categories to be participated in by 30 boxers.

Beach volleyball will be played on April 30 at the Capitol beachfront with six teams coming from Manila and four local teams.

Local cyclist will be pedalling through a 205-kilometer race, dubbed “Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. Cup”, which will run from Lingayen via Bugallon (Socony junction) onward to the towns of Labrador, Sual, Alaminos City, Bani, Agno (Banganoda junction), Burgos, Dasol, Infanta, back to Dasol, Burgos, Mabini, Alaminos City (Palamis junction), Sual, Labrador and finish back in Lingayen via Brgy.
