Region I ranks 7th in PRISAA Games

THE Region I delegation, majority of whom are athletes from Pangasinan, placed 7th overall in the PRISAA National Collegiate Games held April 8-14, at the Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex, in Zamboanga City.

The region’s medal harvest was 11 gold, 11 silver, and 19 bronze.

Region VII (Central Visayas) topped the games with 70 gold, 53 silver, and 67 bronze.

Central Visayas also gained the approval of the PRISAA National Board of Trustees to host the 2012 PRISAA Games in Cebu City.

Region XI (Southern Mindanao) gathered 66 gold, 59 silver, and 42 bronze for second place while Region VI (Western Visayas) and Region IV-A (CALABARZON) notched third and fourth places, respectively.

The final standing of the regions (ranked from fifth to fifteenth places) was: Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR), Region V (Bicol), Region I (Ilocos-Pangasinan), Region IX (Western Mindanao), Region VIII (Eastern Visayas), Region III (Central Luzon), Region II (Cagayan Valley), Region XIII (CARAGA), Region X (Northern Mindanao), ARMM (Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao), and Region IV-B (MINMAROPA).
