THE University of Luzon (UL) received a citation last week from the Dagupan Sangguniang Panglungsod for winning the grand championship in the recent National Confederation of Drug and Bugle Corps of the Philippines competition.
UL president Mac-Arthur Samson accepted the citation contained in Resolution No. 6367-2009.
“The victory of the University of Luzon Drum and Bugle Corps brought honor and prestige not only to the school but also to the city of Dagupan,” the resolution reads.
Aside from winning the grand championship, the UL Drum and Bugle Corps also bagged awards for being the “most disciplined” and also for “being best in uniform”.
The competition, participated in by other highly-rated drum and bugle corps in the country, was held at the Quirino Grand stand on Rizal Park in Manila.
The resolution, authored by Councilor Danilo Torio, was attested to by city Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, and approved by Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr.—LM
