Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. describes him as a consummate artist while Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez calls him “El Maestro”.

Raymund Sto. Domingo, a local businessman, received this accolade when he opened his one-man photo exhibit at the Big Atrium of CSI the City Mall as a special feature of the Dagupan Bangus Festival 2009.

The photo exhibit of Sto. Domingo considered as the only master photographer in the province was opened in the afternoon of Tuesday (April 21) and will be on until April 27.

Fellow members from the Camera Club of the Philippines (CCP) led by past presidents and other master photographers attended the opening, many of whom were first time visitors to the city.

The exhibit consisted of Sto. Domingo’s winning pictures over the last three decades, most of which were taken in Dagupan and Pangasinan.

“One of these is our beautiful sunset. As compared to the sunset at Manila Bay, perhaps our sunset (at Tondaligan Park) is even more beautiful,” Sto. Domingo told newsmen.

Another winning photo captures the image of a fisherman throwing his fish net into the water off the Lingayen Gulf at sunset, showing all the colors of life at that precise time.

Sto. Domingo, honored in the past as an outstanding citizen of Dagupan, exhibited photos of century-old churches.

This is Sto. Domingo’s fifth or sixth photo exhibit, having held others in the United States, Manila, and various parts of the country.

Prior to this exhibit, Sto. Domingo held a photo seminar on April 4 for beginners and amateurs who are into photography. — LM
