THIRD District Rep. Rachel Arenas has assured consumers that she will work to find concrete solutions to the persistent power supply problems within the service area of Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (CENPELCO).

In a Facebook post on August 20, 2025, Arenas said that as vice-chair of the House Committee on Energy, she will raise the public’s complaints with the National Electrification Administration (NEA). These include frequent brownouts, voltage fluctuations, high electricity rates, and concerns over CENPELCO’s customer service.

Arenas emphasized that a reliable power supply is vital to sustain investments, generate jobs, and drive the continued development of Pangasinan as an economic hub.

She also wants clarification on the corrective measures being implemented by CENPELCO as well as its capacity to adapt to renewable energy sources such as solar power, which continues to gain wider acceptance nationwide.

Arenas added that she is ready to work with both NEA and CENPELCO to address consumer concerns and improve electricity services in the province.

CENPELCO’s franchise area covers San Carlos City and the towns of Aguilar, Alcala, Basista, Bautista, Bayambang, Binmaley, Bugallon, Labrador, Lingayen, Malasiqui, Mangaldan, Mangatarem, Sual, and Urbiztondo. (Eva Visperas)
