Kua asserts Reyna not entitled to JO employees
VICE Mayor Bryan Kua, presiding officer of the Dagupan City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP), unequivocally declared that lone opposition Councilor Librada Reyna is not entitled to job order (JO) workers because she has no committee chairmanship.
Reyna filed a request for a driver, a secretary, and an administrative staff on August 4, saying she is entitled to it as an elected councilor of Dagupan.
Kua asserted at the opening of the August 7 regular session of the SP, where Reyna was not present as she was on official leave.
He explained that JO employees are assigned to councilors who have a committee chairmanship in consideration of the additional work entailed by the designation.
The vice mayor further said that in this period of crisis, as Dagupan has just been submerged in floodwaters for 10 days, unity, compassion as well as true service to the people of Dagupan are more important than anything else.
“Kaya tumabi muna ang pulitika, tumabi muna ang paninira, tumabi muna ang mga sagabal,” he said, repeating the words he told Reyna during the August 4 session in answer to the latter’s privilege speech. (Leonardo Micua)
