Pangasinan tops dengue cases in Region 1

REGION 1 is grappling with a significant increase in dengue cases, with numbers more than doubling in the first four months of 2025 compared to the same period last year, majority of which were recorded in Pangasinan at 914, including 86 in Dagupan City.

Dengue cases from January to April this year stood at 1,830, up 161% from 701 in the same period last year, based on data from the Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) for Region 1.

Health authorities reiterated their call to the public to remain vigilant and take proactive measures such as eliminating potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

People were also strongly advised to seek immediate medical attention if they experience dengue symptoms, which include fever, severe headache, muscle pain, and skin rashes. (Ahikam Pasion)
