Bangus Festival 2025 kicks off April 9
THE prestigious annual Bangus Festival will kick off on April 9 with a fun run dubbed “Dagupan Dash” or “Handa na Takbo na!”, to underscore the need for preparedness for natural and man-made disasters.
Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez designated Councilor Marcelino Fernandez as chair of the executive committee in this year’s festival, with annual highlights that include the Gilon-Gilon street dancing, and the Bangusan Street Party on April 30 along the Jose de Venecia Expressway Extension with top bands in the country invited to perform.
The “Baratillo” street bazaar and food strip will also be back.
The Bangus Rodeo, that will pick the longest, heaviest as well as the most beautiful bangus, and also the fastest bangus classifier and bangus eater, will again give visitors an insight into Dagupan’s thriving bangus industry.
Culinary experts will again showcase different ways to cook bangus at the Bangusine to be held at the city plaza.
The Bangus Festival will culminate on May 1 with the holding of the Pista’y Dayat at the Tondaligan Ferdinand Park by the Bonuan Blue Beach. (Leonardo Micua)
