Dagupan lists 140 projects in 2025
17 NATI’L, 123 CITY PROJECTS
DAGUPENOS will see an unprecedented bonanza in infrastructure projects in the city this year with ongoing 17 big national projects simultaneously, and complementing the 123 ongoing projects funded solely by the Dagupan City government, according to Mayor Belen Fernandez.
Except four ongoing projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and one by the Abono Partyist, all the ongoing national government projects in the city were fully funded, said Fernandez.
Bankrolled by this P272 million were 11 projects funded by four senators in addition to the upgrading of PCC (Portland Cement Concrete) Pavement and Drainage System in Mayombo by the Abono Partylist through Congressman Robert “Eskimo” Estrella Jr.
Fernandez earlier said she solicited projects from the senators, Abono Partylist and the DPWH because of the unrelenting efforts of the seven majority councilors at the Sangguniag Panlungsod to block the city’s annual budgets and her requested supplemental budgets.
The ongoing national projects include the improvement of Judge Jose de Venecia Extension Phase I and II in Bolosan, funded by Senator Jinggoy Estrada; Construction of City Pavillon Phases 1 and 2 and 3 of One Bonuan all funded by Senator Risa Hontiveros;
MacArthur Landing and Museum at Tondaligan Park funded by Senator Grace Poe; Construction of Covered Gymnasium at Sabangan Elementary School in Bonuan Gueset, funded by Senator Bong Revilla; and Construction of a Covered Court Gymnasium at Lucao Elementary School, funded by Senator Bong Revilla; and Upgrading of PCC Pavement and Drainage System at Pogo Chico, funded by Senator Francis Tolentino, and the ongoing construction of a Two-Storey, 10 Classroom School building of the Dagupan City National High School by the Abono Partylist.
The ongoing River Protection Project of DPWH Region 1 in Barangay Lucao, its PCCP at Arellano Street, A.B. Fernandez Avenue, Perez Boulevard from Petron Gasoline Station to University of Luzon, PCCP at Perez Boulevard and PCCP at Tapuac, are funded by the DPWH. (Leonardo Micua)
