Pangasinan logs coldest day of the year so far on Jan. 28
IF you felt chilled and needed a thicker blanket last January 28, it was because it was the province’s coldest day so far with temperature dropping to 21.4°C, slightly beating the previous record of 21.42°C, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Engr. Jose Estrada Jr, chief meteorologist of PAGASA Dagupan City, said the temperature drop was due to the prevailing northeast monsoon or amihan.
He said Pangasinenses can expect cooler weather to continue in the next few days due to the strengthening of the northeast monsoon until the first week of February.
At the same time, he advised wearing appropriate clothing as he warned against potential diseases arising from varying temperatures that can affect the population, especially children and the elderly
Meanwhile, the weather bureau did not monitor any low-pressure areas or typhoon that can affect the country in the first week of February. (Kim Gealogo)
