MBTF resumes duties after official US trip
DAGUPAN Mayor Belen Fernandez was immediately back at her office and on with work at 8 a.m. on December 4, shortly after arriving from an official trip to the United States since November 18.
In a statement of resumption of duties addressed to all concerned, dated December 4, 2024, the mayor said, “I reaffirm my commitment to fulfill the responsibilities vested in me by the people of the City of Dagupan and to uphold the higher standards of public service.”
She reiterated her call for local government officials, employees, and all stakeholders to work collaboratively to achieve the shared vision of progress and development for the city, saying “Together, we will continue to build a community found on integrity, transparency, and service excellence.”
She led a delegation of city, school, youth and Sangguniang Kabataan officials who attended the celebration of the 29th twinning agreement between Dagupan City and Milpitas City in California, USA as well as for exchange activities with their counterparts in Milpitas.
They were welcomed by Milpitas City Mayor Carmen Montano and other local officials and were hosted by the Filipino-American community in the city and other parts of California.
While Fernandez was away, Vice Mayor Bryan Kua assumed as acting mayor while opposition Councilor Librada Reyna assumed as acting vice mayor and Sangguniang Panlungsod presiding officer. (Leonardo Micua)
