SAN Carlos Mayor Julier ‘Ayoy’ Resuello delivered his State of the City Address (SOCA) on October 08, highlighting his accomplishments and planned programs, after the submission of his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for reelection alongside his full slate of candidates.
In his annual address, he outlined the programs and projects that have been implemented and are planned for the city.
Among the accomplishments he cited were Aid to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, which had a P9.35-million fund distributed to impoverished families; livelihood training; medical assistance, including to solo parents with a P2.5 million allocation; and financial aid extended to disadvantaged elderly individuals and centenarians worth over P1.25 million.
Another P29.47 million — including P15.25 million from local funds and P14.22 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development — was spent for children and minors, including milk supplementation, supplemental feeding programs, and school supplies distribution for Child Development Learners.
For its agriculture-driven economy, production inputs and support subsidies totaling P42.57 million were distributed to farmers.
On infrastructure, P909 million was used for road paving, various buildings, covered courts, multipurpose halls, daycare centers, and health facilities.
The mayor also noted income growth for small businesses as an offshoot of more visitors coming mainly for the Minor Basilica of St. Dominic de Guzman Parish. (Ahikam Pasion)
