GOVERNOR Ramon Guico III filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for reelection on October 2 at the Commission on Elections provincial office in Dagupan City, expressing his determination to continue the development initiatives started during his first term.

He was accompanied by Pangasinan First Lady Maan Tuazon-Guico and Vice Governor Mark Ronald Lambino and the rest of their board members and leaders under the Alyansang Guico Lambino (AGuiLa) team, including re-electionist Reps. Arthur Celeste and Ramon Guico Jr of the 1st and 5th Districts, respectively.

The governor reiterated his commitment to advancing key projects, notably the Pangasinan Link Expressway (PLEX), a significant infrastructure development in partnership with San Miguel Holdings Corp. (SMHC). that aims to enhance connectivity between the eastern and western parts of the province to significantly reduce travel time from Binalonan to Lingayen.

“Our battle cry, ‘Pangasinan ang galing,’ represents our aspiration for excellence and our promise to the people. We will accomplish what we have started,” Guico stated.

Lambino, who is running for his third and final term, expressed optimism about the positive sentiment among their group across all districts: “We feel good, so I think that’s a good indicator.”

With the majority of incumbent local government officials, including mayors and board members, aligned with their team this election compared to the previous one, Lambino believes it will be easier to engage with voters and promote their platforms.

Board members who filed their CoCs with the Guico team were Napoleon Fontelera Jr. and Apolonia Bacay (1st District), Philip Theodore Cruz and Haidee Pacheco (2nd district), Vici Ventanilla and Shiela Marie Baniqued (3rd District), Jerry Agerico Rosario and Marinor de Guzman (4th District), Nicholi Jan Louie Sison and former Urdaneta City councilor Jesus Basco (5th District), and former board member Shiela Marie Perez-Galicia along with former San Nicolas mayor Rebecca Saldivar (6th District).

Also, Maan Guico filed her CoC to run for mayor of Urdaneta City, challenging incumbent Mayor Julio Parayno III, who is seeking a second term. (Eva Visperas)
