URDANETA City Mayor Julio Parayno III brought his 90-day preventive suspension by the provincial government before the regional court, when he sought a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO), Writ of Preliminary Injunction and/or Status Quo Ante Order.

The petition for TRO was filed by Parayno against Gov. Ramon Guico III, Vice Gov, Mark Ronald Lambino, Board Members Shiela Marie Baniqued, Napoleon Fontelera, Noel Bince, Apolonia Bacay, Philip Theodore Cruz, Haide Pacheco, Vici Ventanilla, Marinor de Guzman, Rosary Gracia Tababa, Nicole Jan Louis Sison, Carolyn Sison, Joyce Fernandez, Raul Sabangan, and the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).

Parayno’s 90-day preventive suspension was signed by Gov. Guico which was based on the recommendation of the Blue Ribbon Committee of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan following the complaints about flies swarming a poultry farm in Barangay Tipuso way to back in 2020, which the mayor allegedly failed to act.

The matter was first brought to the ARTA in Malacanang, which referred the matter to the Pangasinan provincial government.

The case before the sala of Regional Trial Court Judge Crisma V. Nabua of Branch 73 in Urdaneta City is docketed as Civil Case No. U-12260. The initial hearing was held on August 21,

Meanwhile, some 100 Urdaneta Sangguniang Panlungsod employees finally received their salaries, which was delayed due to the belated temporary designation of officials under the succession protocol following the mayor’s suspension. (Leonardo Micua)
