Infrastructure suffered the biggest blow at P222.5 million, while agriculture — including palay, corn, high-value crops, fisheries, and livestock — accounted for P24.6 million.

Nine houses were also reported damaged in the towns of Sison, Binalonan, Bani, Dasol, and Infanta.

Several schools were also flooded, resulting in adjustments for the opening of the new academic year on July 29.

Libsong Elementary School, along with all 54 schools in Mangatarem, will commence face-to-face classes on August 5. Raymundo Elementary School in Sual held modular classes on July 29, while Binmaley School of Fisheries, Canaoalan Elementary School in Binmaley, and Maronong Elementary School in Sta. Barbara conducted blended classes on July 29.

No casualties were reported.

Meanwhile, additional family food packs arrived at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 1 in Rosales for towns affected by floods, including those that will be delivered to the Mangatarem Satellite Warehouse.

Another 3,600 food packs also arrived at the Sta. Barbara Satellite Warehouse.

DSWD-Ilocos reported that it distributed 22,478 Family Food Packs and 319 non-food items to local government units across the region, with total assistance amounting to about P17.3 million. (Eva Visperas, Ahikam Pasion)
