Soon, Bayambang will be ‘BGC of the North’
P2.5-B BYB METRO PROJECT LAUNCHED
A P2.5 billion commercial-residential township project called BYB Metro (or Bayambang Metro) envisioned as the “BGC of the North” had its groundbreaking on June 24.
BGC (Bonifacio Global City) is the modern central business district and major financial hub located in Taguig, Metro Manila.
BYB Metro that spans 67 hectares, is the brainchild of former Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao, inspired by his dream to transform the municipality into a primary economic hub of southern Pangasinan that will boost the local economy, create jobs, and improve the quality of life for Bayambangueños.
“The Bayambang Metro Town Center will become a hub of culture and commerce, where everyone has the chance to succeed and contribute to the advancement of our community,” he said.
Celedonio Pile Jr., president of Exceldon Consulting, Inc., said the BYB Metro will be completed within the specified timeframe like they did in Indonesia, a 2,000-hectare endeavor.
BYB Metro will be constructed in two phases: (First phase) The Commercial Business District that will include a shopping mall, restaurants, and an amusement park. (Second phase) The residential subdivisions designed to provide modern living spaces for the community.
But what easily impressed the audience is the planned Blue Sky theme park that will feature a 50-meter-high Ferris wheel and a roller coaster as the main attractions, expected to open in November this year.
Mayor Mary Clare Jose-Quiambao, known to her constituents as ‘Mayor Niña’, said the project will “unlock countless opportunities for each one of us… and will serve as a formidable weapon in our revolution against poverty.”
“This project will usher in modern facilities and services that will enhance our quality of life,” she added.
With the rise of the BYB Metro, the mayor said she anticipates a surge in employment for the town’s’ residents, especially the youth. (Eva Visperas)
