Majority 7 administratively liable under LGC — Valle
FOR REJECTING ALL SUPPLEMENTARY BUDGETS SINCE 2022
ALL seven members of the majority in the Dagupan Sangguniang Panlungsod are liable to be charged administratively for disapproving the submitted supplemental budgets since 2022 and deliberate delay in the passage of the city’s 2023 and 2024 annual budgets.
City Legal Officer Aurora Valle believes the majority councilors acted capriciously and whimsically in arbitrarily turning down all supplemental budgets submitted by Mayor Belen Fernandez and causing the delay in the passage of the 2023 and 2024 annual budgets.
Valle told newsmen she has enough evidence in support of the case to be filed against Councilors Redford Erfe-Mejia, Librada Reyna-Macalanda, Alfie Fernandez, Alvin Coquia, Marilou Fernandez, Celia Chua-Lim and Irene Lim- Acosta who continuously obstructed all the programs and projects of the Belen Fernandez administration.
Their repeated failure to perform their duties and functions as city’s legislators since they assumed their posts in 2022 are punishable under the Local Government and Administrative codes of the Philippines, Valle said.
“They had violated the ethical standard for public servants,” she added.
Mayor Fernandez said: “I think Atty. Valle has all the reasons now to file a case against all the seven for being anti-Dagupan ever since”. (Leonardo Micua)
