DUE to prevailing high heat index, the Bayambang local government will start a four-day compressed work week arrangement from May 6 to June 30, 2024.

Mayor Mary Clare Jose-Quiambao issued Executive Order (EO) No. 36 series of 2024 on April 29, citing Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular No. 6 series of 2020 which provides for the Policies on Flexible Work Arrangements in the government allowing the adoption and implementation of compressed workweek in government offices.

It said that reducing the exposure to the extreme heat may mitigate the harmful effects on persons transacting with the Local Government, as well as on the health and productivity of LGU employees, hence the adoption of a four-day (compressed) workweek in the LGU Bayambang is deemed necessary.

The LGU Bayambang offices shall observe 10 hours daily exclusive of one hour break, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. work schedule from Monday to Thursday.

However, the four-day workweek shall not apply to Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, Rural Health Units, Special Economic Enterprise, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Municipal Engineering Office (field workers), Municipal Agriculture Office (field workers) and Bayambang Public Safety Office.
