PROVINCIAL Election Supervisor Marino Salas said Pangasinan recorded some 60,000 new voter registrants in the ongoing voters’ registration for next year’s election.

However, he clarified during the iFM Dagupan interview that the number is still subject to review and validation.

Salas said the off-site registration and voters’ education, registration activities in Binalonan and Alaminos City last April 12 was participated in mostly by college and senior high school students.

On April 26, a districtwide RAP (Register Anytime Program) for Districts 5 and 6 will be held at the SM Mall Urdaneta and Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4 on April 27 at the Robinson’s Mall in Calasiao.

The RAP, or where a citizen qualified to vote, can register anytime, regardless of residence.

Salas said results of review of about 60,000 new registrants who applied from February 2024 will be released on April 20.

“We will assure that all the 1,364 barangays (in Pangasinan), even the far-flung, will be visited by our Comelec team (to look for qualified registrants),” he said.

The ongoing voter registration is up to September 30 this year.
