Stray bullets hit 2 siblings in New Year revelry

TWO siblings were wounded with stray bullets allegedly fired from a gun by their neighbor during the New Year revelry in Barangay Longos Central in San Fabian town.

The victims, identified as Diana Montes, 21, student, and Danilo Montes Jr, 26, technician, were rushed to Region 1 Medical Center Annex in Barangay Bonuan Binloc, Dagupan City for treatment of their injuries.

Danilo sustained injury in his upper right back portion while Diana was injured in the left side portion of her head (near her ear).

The suspect, Keempee Marcella, 32, a vendor and a resident of Barangay Cayanga this town, was arrested.

The victims’ father, Danilo Montes, 67, said he saw the suspect fire his short firearm from inside the compound of his house which is adjacent to their residence.

Responding police personnel recovered from the crime scene eight pieces of fired cartridge cases of 9mm. However, the firearm used was not recovered. (Eva Visperas)
