New 17 barangay captains elected, 14 reelected

BSKE WINNERS IN DAGUPAN

THERE are more new barangay captains elected than the number of reelected incumbents during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections in Dagupan City on October 30, according to the yet unofficial list of winners released to The PUNCH on November 2 by the Dagupan City Information Office.

Of the 31 incumbent barangay captains, only 14 won their reelection. The returning barangay captains are led by Marcelino Fernandez, barangay captain of Lucao, who is also the incumbent Liga ng Barangay President and ex-officio member of the Dagupan City Council.

The others are Herminigildo Rosal (Barangay 1), Nancy Morris (Bolosan), Joseph Maramba (Bonuan Boquig), Manuel Bumanglag (Bonuan Gueset), Aldex Meneses (Lasip Chico), Armando Capito (Lasip Grande), Arsenio Santillan Jr (Lomboy), Calvin Cayabyab (Mamalingling), Benedict Cayabyab (Mangin), Julita Perez  (Pantal), Mark Anthony Gutierrez (Poblacion Oeste), Nestor Victorio (Pugaro), and Delfin de Guzman (Salapingao).

Unopposed were Julita Perez (Pantal), Filipina de los Santos (Malued).

The new kapitans are Diosdado Maramba Jr. who replaced Barangay Captain Gregorio Taminaya; Francisco Lopez vice Roberto Melecio of Barangay II and III, Alfonso Zabala Jr. vice Raul Singson of Barangay IV, Wilmer Castanares who upset Barangay Captain Joshua Gonzales of Bonuan Binloc; Joven Sangalang vice Evangelita de la Cruz; Luzviminda Velasquez who defeated Pepito Ventura of Carael;

Gregorio Claveria vice Fortunato Sanchez of Caranglaan; Arsenio Curameng who defeated Samuel Guadiz of Mayombo; Edwin Estrada Cusi who defeated Calixto Fernandez of Pogo Chico; former Kapitan Wilfredo Salayug who replaced the late  Barangay Captain Eric Munoz of Tambac; Sidney Lomboy who replaced Dr. Nelson Cuison of Tapuac and Mark Fidel Gomez who defeated Helen Fermill of Tebeng,
