A 30-year-old woman from Barangay Balagan in Binmaley town was one of the two Filipino casualties in the recent attack by the Palestinian terror group Hamas on Israel, on October 9.

This information was confirmed by Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo through a post on the social media networking site X (formerly Twitter).

The victim, Angelyn Aguirre, had been working as a caregiver for a local resident in Israel for six years, primarily in Kfar Aza, a kibbutz (local community) located in the southern part of Israel, near the border with the Gaza Strip.

She had been married for over a year, and the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary on September 8. Her husband is currently in the Philippines. (Ahikam Pasion/Cesar Ramirez)
