DECORP: Pole relocation along Arellano street ongoing

THE Dagupan Electric Corporation (DECORP) is taking advantage of the road closure along Arellano Street and other Dagupan City streets to facilitate the relocation of their utility poles.

Atty. Randy Castilan, DECORP’s legal counsel, said they have timed the pole relocation and replacement to coincide with the ongoing road construction to minimize inconvenience to residents once the road is completed.

Castilan said their well-trained electricians conducting live line work to ensure that electricity supply remains uninterrupted during the operation. “We don’t want the electricity to be cut off while we are moving the poles”

He also urged the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Dagupan City Engineering Office to coordinate with telecommunication companies for the relocation of their attachments on DECORP’s poles to expedite the process.

He explained that the removal process must be carefully managed, as it could impact telecom subscribers at the receiving end and cautioned building and construction project owners against erecting structures near electric posts.

Given the high-voltage nature of these lines, any contact with them could lead to disastrous consequences. (Ahikam Pasion)
