Pangasinan, now local franchise holder of Miss World Philippines
THE Limgas na Pangasinan has leveled up. Its succeeding winners will officially represent the province in the Miss World Philippines beauty pageant.
The news was shared on the Instagram account of Miss World Philippines (msworldphil) on Aug. 21 with the following message : Showcasing Ultimate Beauty and Provincial Pride! The province of Pangasinan stands tall as it takes center stage once again! Through the tremendous efforts of the provincial government and the Limgas na Pangasinan 2023, we are thrilled to announce the provincial government of Pangasinan as the esteemed local franchise holder of Miss World Philippines Pangasinan!
The post added, “Captivating hearts and capturing the essence of beauty, the crowned Limgas na Pangasinan World – Nikisha Buenafe Cheve now holds more than just a title. She will assume the prestigious honor in becoming the official candidate representing the province in the forthcoming Miss World Philippines pageant”!
It may be recalled that before becoming Limgas na Pangasinan World, Cheve was crowned Binibining Binmaley 2023.
During the Limgas na Pangasinan search, Ma-an Tuazon-Guico, wife of Gov. Ramon Guico III and chairperson of Limgas 2023, told local newsmen that they have upgraded the qualifications and standards for this year’s pageant in preparation for their eventual participation in the Miss World Philippines as official representative of Pangasinan.
“Siyempre gusto natin yung kandidata natin may chance manalo because we believe in her, di ba?,” she said.
Mrs. Guico said they will be all-out in giving support to the province’s official candidate to the Miss World Philippines.
It is not known, however, how the provincial government will pay and support the local franchise. (Eva Visperas)
