Court junks electoral protest vs Manaoag Mayor Rosario
THE court junked an election protest filed against incumbent Manaoag Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario.
The protest was filed by former Manaoag Vice Mayor Domyciano Ching, who was one of Rosario’s three opponents in the 2022 Elections.
The protest was dismissed by Judge Edna C. Ibe-Pulmano of the Regional Trial Court 1st Judicial Region Branch 48 Urdaneta City on August 03, 2023.
In an interview with Mayor Rosario over Aksyon Radyo Pangasinan, he said the court did not find any significant gain in the 156 votes protested by Ching against Rosario.
Ching filed cases of massive fraud and serious anomalies against Rosario after losing with 15,961 votes against Rosario’s 16,117 votes.
Rosario said he was elated with the dismissal of the case as his legitimacy as town mayor is further confirmed.
The resolution of the case came after more than a year.
Rosario urged his and Ching’s supporters to move on, and unite for the betterment of the municipality of Manaoag.
Asked on whether he harbors ill will towards Ching, Rosario said it is Ching’s right to file a complaint.
“Mas magandang magtulungan na lang tayong lahat dahil tapos na ang kaso”, he said. (Ahikam Pasion)
