FIRST YEAR IN OFFICE

VICE Gov. Mark Lambino gave the Guico administration’s first year in office a high rating for the major strides it made making Pangasinan a premier province.

He told local newsmen “there were“ lots of planning, organization and reorganization, a lot of changes not just in the bureaucracy but also in the operations of the Capitol “per se”.

He noted that it’s inevitable to have critics who say that there wasn’t much accomplished not realizing that “because with all the great plans, we really need a systematic preparation of all our plans”.

“We cannot simply implement good programs, nice projects with haphazard preparation,” he said.

He added that when he and Gov. Ramon Guico III assumed their elective posts, they have laid out their plans from day 1based on their campaign promises in 2022.

Lambino cited the Pangasinan Link Expressway (PLEX) for eastern and western connectivity in Pangasinan, the establishment of the Pangasinan Polytechnic and the creation of a provincial management system that reorganized health care facilities and services in the province separating the management of the hospitals from the provincial health office into another department, all major campaign promises.

On the PLEX, he said, “God willing in a couple of weeks our governor will make the formal announcement of the Pangasinan east-west expressway signifying the official start of the project, not just the intention of the project”.

On health care, he said the operational costs of hospitals have improved and the start of the construction of hospital in Umingan town will be the first of the multiple township projects to be built under the Guico administration.

There are other similar projects to be built in other areas where the provincial government is currently acquiring the lots for their construction, he added. (Eva Visperas)
